An Amazing Feet

When I was a child I used to walk on rocks in an attempt to toughen my feet. I figured that one day, I might need to run for my life and I might not have shoes to protect me. Yeah, I have an active imagination. And then one afternoon while I was practicing walking across the gravel without flinching, I realized that one day I might get married. My future husband might want to touch my feet. And they'd be yucky. I came to a cross-roads, standing there on those jagged rocks: Do I continue my endeavors to harden up my feet or do I go for "lady feet"? I chose the latter. However, since I'm not into slathering myself with oils or brushing my hair one hundred times before bed and all that girlie junk, my feet remained rather ragged. Fast forward twenty-five-ish years and my feet were still as scratchy as all get-out. And my hubby didn't seem to care. But I did. There was one fateful day last week where, at the store, I spotted a bottle of peppermint foot lotion made by Burt's Bees. It promised to make my feet smooth and svelte. I ignored the price and bought it. Since then I've established a new night-time routine. While hubby and I watch Enterprise I scrape my gnarly feet with a foot skin scrapper "thing" and then comes the best part: on goes the peppermint foot lotion! So now not only do I have softer feet, but I like to imagine that my mental clarity has improved due to the benefits of peppermint. And that's why I decided to write this post, to tell you all that if you...um... That if you buy... Wait a minute. What was I saying? I forgot my point... I think I need to go rub my feet again.

I guess they can be handy for scratching backs. But I'm discovering I like having softer feet.

@silvermist Okay, fine. You caught me. I do brush my hair. But I don't have the patience for body lotion...

No, I never brush my hair. I like the "Medusa" look.

Walking on rocks must hurt. I read something once about a girl who would run through a pricker patch on the first nice day in the spring. It would toughen her feet so she could go barefoot all summer. But the pain! Time for some oil, I think.

Reminds me of Laura Ingalls Wilder, walking around without shoes. And how uncomfortable she felt when she had to clad her feet for school! They must've had tough feet way back when!
