I have been an advocate for my kids(my daughter and grand kids) for years. I think it is important for our children to handle their own affairs. But, when they are young we need to help out and teach them how to act appropriately in such situations.

Believe it or not, this hurt has to do with him being very into gaming, when wife is not.

@GardenGerty .....That is certainly not good. Can cause a lot of problems for him and them both.

@GardenGerty there are worse things than gaming. some people make a living out of it, maybe he could turn the hobby into a job?

Yes, and this is heavy on my mind. Thanks for listening. Like I said, I know that there is some blame both ways but I want him to be happy.

@GardenGerty That's all we want for our children - that they be happy.

I have always said, "You hurt my child, you hurt me. I am a mama bear protecting her cubs. Don't mess with us." I know so many parents of friends of my children who just didn't seem to care what their kids were doing and I was appalled. Unfortunately, when they become adults we have to let them fend for themselves, as much as we want to help.

I have had one daughter in law believe I hated her, until I came to do so. I want to keep supportive here, as when she makes him happy she is the one person I know who can make him smile.

short and sort of to the point.
I have issues with how he was treated over the past, but not sure if this has anything to do with what is happening now.

Your son or mine? Different daughter in law, different problems. He is not perfect but she needs to leave it off of Facebook.

It is hard when it involves their marriage and when you believe that both parties are wrong. It does not involve any cheating of any kind, but a failure of priorities, in my opinion, on both sides.

No, and this one will not initiate a talk with me about the situation. I hear about it from her on Facebook, and his cousin telling her off.

I hope everything is okay. And yet so many things happen to all of us in life. So I will keep my fingers crossed for both of you!

@GardenGerty no matter the reason someone is being mean to your child, no matter how old they become, as a mother you are always ready to come to their defense.

I do too. I also hope I do not say something that makes things worse.
