Uh Oh...Think I've Got an Infection!

Earlier today I noticed a large amount of yellow/brown fluid coating my back teeth after I had a bad taste in my mouth. After some investigating, I determined it had drained from my incision sites where my bottom wisdom teeth were removed. At first, I thought perhaps it was drainage from the stitches dissolving and tried not to worry about it. Fast forward to midnight tonight when I woke up in pain. I went to take a look at things and found more brown fluid. This time I touched the incision site on one side and a bunch of brown fluid drained out. Yuck! I also noticed the lymph nodes in my neck are rather swollen. I guess this could be the reason I didn't feel so great over the weekend. At least I'm not running a fever. I guess I'll be calling the surgeon's office in the morning to see if they want me to come in or phone in antibiotics for me.

Oh no. I hope it isn't an infection but maybe swelling? I hope you feel better!

I'm hoping it's something else too. I would think I'd have a fever if it was an infection but that brown gunk draining doesn't look good. I'll be calling the office in the morning and find out what they want me to do!

@Lolaze Yes, best to call and ask if they can check you out! I hope it isn't anything serious!

@infatuatedbby I'm sure it's not serious as I don't have a fever. At worst I just picked up a minor infection and will need a course of antibiotics.
