We measure people everyday by the way they speak, the words they uses and the meaning behind those words. Does it necessarily mean someone who uses big words in every conversations and with everyone they meet, means they are more educated and more intelligent, than a person who uses simple/broken down words with his/her peers or with someone they just met?

In my opinion, people who use big words are insecure and trying to prove something. What is the point of using big words that the person you`re talking to does not understand you or struggle to think what the word may mean?

@miniam I agree, it is total bs to hear some people talking to someone who is really struggling to understand, and those persons laughed at the little guy with their friends. I see it happen everyday in the work place, and it's not nice.

@JAMTECH I think the guy using big words is the one who is supposed to be laughed at as he`s proving how ignorant he is.

Action speak louder than words. No matter how bigger the words they use, if their actions betray their words, they are not intelligent or well-educated.

I think ability to use the talent at the right time makes one more educated.

The question of big or small words is secondary to using the correct word at the correct time, IMHO.
