Do marriages are happily settled relation or compromised?

After getting married,we mostly come to see the married life get settled. Do all marriages really gets settled? In Hinduism,people belives in matching birth chart of bride and groom before marriage.Do this matching concept really helps in building a fluent relation? Relations are seen smoothly going on but behind that there may be a big compromise due to bang one out of two sacrificing in the name of love. Mutual understanding of both at all is just the words of saying rather it is a compromise of one and his or her negligence to carry on the build up relation.
