What Can You See From Your Kitchen Window?

I see my back yard and the garage and shed. Our back yard is fairly large and completely enclosed by trees on the three sides from the back of the house. So, it’s very private and quite often, I see bunnies and squirrels. I see lots of grass and white clover, in season and wild purple violets in the Spring. My favorite flower. We had a family of groundhogs that lived just past the edge of the yard where the trees begin. Two baby groundhogs were born there a couple years ago, but now they are gone. They loved to come out and eat the clover. It was like a banquet to them and they didn’t know where to start eating first. It was comical to watch them. We also had a family of foxes for a while, but they are also gone now. Three gorgeous baby foxes were jumping about, playing in the evenings. We took several pictures of them. The mother was often seen in the yard and driveway in the daytime and once she came up on the front porch, when I called to her. Very unafraid, it seemed. But, being a wild animal, I was careful. I was behind the storm door, talking to her through the screen. Beautiful animal. Then, a small baby fawn came one morning, right under the kitchen window and went all the way across the back yard into the trees. I never did see the mother that day, but I’m sure she must have been near. I have seen deer in the field in the front of our house and sometimes they dash across the driveway when we drive in at night. There is also an assortment of birds, from crows to cardinals. I put seed out for them in the winter months and hummingbird feeders are always full in the summer. I love my hummers. I’ve told everyone that we have our own zoo in our back yard. You don't want to see what I see outside my kitchen window. LOL. Living in the city I see other peoples yards, none of them are kept up at all. So it looks like the jungles of vietnam. Horrible scenery I have. Nothing worth looking at.

@inertia4 Perhaps you can just not look out that window and later you will find a better place to live. I hope you can.

OH! I'm sorry you don't have a pleasant view from your window. I just love my back yard. I live on a country road, but I'm not far from a small town, a huge mall and the Interstate. It's a really good location, I think.

@crazyhorseladycx Oh! Then they would be even easier targets for the foxes. We have a friend who has chickens out like that and we have heard that some of their chickens have been killed by a wild animal.

Unfortunately I live in an apartment complex and all I see is vehicles, other apartments, all the things that comes with living in a complex. I miss the days of when I lived in the country. My yard had many animals going through it. I can feel the beauty that surrounds you from your words and your picture.

@IreneVincent I loved living at my youngest son's place but he and the family wanted to move in there. I understandand now I am staying with my oldest son and his better half. I will find a place of my own and hopefully with beauty around me.

I see the fence and my neighbors house. The sliding door in the kitchen is where I'll see the backyard and nice view afar to homes and into the hills!

@infatuatedbby Yes, just don't look out that window. Keep the blinds closed or the curtains pulled.

That is a lovely view for you, and how lovely to have all that wild life in your own backyard. I only have a two tiered patio, with pots and containers of flowers. The only wildlife we get is the occasional hedgehog and next door's cat. and birds of course.

@IreneVincent We have quite a few trees bordering our property too, but they aren't ours. There's always the worry that one will fall, and of course we get inundated with leaves in the Autumn.

@jaboUK Yes, lots of leaves too. I hope you don't have to rake all the leaves. That would not be a good thing.

I have pots of flowers on my front porch and my hummingbird feeders I can watch from my living room window. There are trees all around my house. Unfortunately, some of these tall trees are scary when storms roll in. I always fear that they will fall on the house or vehicles. One fell on the roof of the garage and one fell on the roof of the shed. Neither did a LOT Of damage and my son was able to repair them and dispose of the trees, but it's always a concern, especially when we have so many trees.

There is a wall. It is bald. So in order to have a good look I placed beautiful croutons to view them through the kitchen window. I am planning to add some more.

A thrill packed view of a courtyard. A hummingbird feeder handing from a tree.

That sounds nice. I enjoy my hummingbirds too. I can see them at the feeders I have at the front windows.
