I almost danced in it

Last night I wrote about our desperate need of rain. Well, I woke up around 7:30 to thunder.
I was so happy, I would have run outside to dance in it. Unfortunately, dancing in the rain isn't wise with thunder and lightning.
After the thunderstorm and heavy rain passed, it has continued with a steady light rain. Ideally we need a few days of steady rain to make up for all we have missed. Heavy rains don't saturate the ground effectively. But it is a start, so I won't complain.

We haven't had rain in quite awhile and we also need some desperately. The grass is starting to turn brown and everything looks parched with all this heat. They say rain later on today for my area so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get rain but no heavy storms that might knock out the power

The grass has been brown for a while already here. We didn't get enough, but it was certainly a start.

@Morethanamom heavy downpours hit us late afternoon and the sky has cleared. Guess it's better than nothing and I hope it helped somewhat

We have had that hot and oppressive weather for most of this month. The atmosphere just hadn't been right for a good rain.
