Remember my post on Thursday about the animal shelters event to be held on Saturday? 45,000 total animals across the country were adopted. Not just in Texas where I thought the event was only taking place, but across the country.
All the animals were spayed/neutered, had their vaccinations and were micro-chipped at no cost. What a fantastic event.

@crazyhorseladycx The puppy mills are absolutely horrendous. You can imagine what I'd like to do to those owners can't you?

Me too @crazyhorseladycx . I just hope those they adopted weren't a "spur of the moment" decision.

@nanette64 That does not really surprise me.

What gets me @Asylum is that the cost is really inexpensive; it's just that most vets charge too much. An actual micro-chip only costs $5 but a vet will charge $30. A single vaccination is only $10 but they will charge $30.

Thats amazing. So awesome that so many people reached out to these precious animals. I thank God for people who have compassion and love animals. It is a big responsibility to own a pet. I just hope they'll all be in good loving homes and will be taken care of after the honey moon period wears off, if you know what I mean. I have seen numerous reports on animal abuse and its not right! When my children were small we had a doberman pincher that my ex husband wanted for his ego, he had his ears and tail done which I felt very much against. Well we stepped out for awhile came home and the dog had trashed the place, well my ex went to punch him he had him cornered and the dog began to growl! I told him then to get rid of him that he ruined him by hitting him with his fist. He ended up in a good home, but I never got another animal until my kids were much older and I was no longer with my ex, he was an abuser all around for 11 and a half years I was with him. I praise God today that I've been remarried to a wonderful man for 22 years and he is no abuser by the grace of God.

@nanette64 O my thats very graphic I think I'll go wash my eyes out now. Yes the dobie ended up with a very nice family and I thank God for that as lots of people have pets but their not all good with them, obviously!

That poor Dobie @Butchcass4 . I am completely against tail and ear docking. Maybe you should have docked his peter!!! Thankfully everything worked out for you, the kids and the Dobie.

It is a sad statistic @skysnap . Roughly 70 million animals a year are euthanized or homeless.

It would be great if there was no need for shelters @jaboUK but at least this is a good start.

That is awesome! I wish I knew how to spay, this guy had 7 dogs and all of them are in heat, reeking havoc in the neighborhood running free and not caring. Oh and the cops dont care they have been called for months and months about these poor dogs.

It is a very exemplary activity to adopt so many homeless animals.
