Neighbor Going Away

This morning I learned that one of our neighbors who had been very friendly with us is going to transfer somewhere, far from us. The reason, they were squatting on a lot that was allowed by the former owner because they are working as helpers at the former lot owner. But then a new owner bought the lot where their house is, so they have to vacate it because a new house will be constructed there. The neighbor was crying saying her family have to rent a room or another house somewhere. It was sad. They have no money to buy the lot that their house is sitting on. We will be missing her too!

Too bad they can't stay in their previous home. It is sad to say goodbye to neighbors who we've been close with.

Yes, we are sorry they were not able to buy the lot where their house stands.

@acelawrites nothing much you can do in this case. Short of lending your neighbors money so they can purchase the lot or offering them a place to stay, this is really something beyond your control.

@cacay1 very true. We pity her and her husband because they are too old to experience having to relocate.

That is so sad . The former owner could have at least given her a piece of small land for having served her as the caretaker . Now , they have no place . So sad indeed .

They gave her a lot, but they do not want to live there because it is very close to a public cemetery where no one lives.

For sure she's a good neighbor for you to miss her, I was just thinking why she was not able to save despite the fact she did not pay any rent.

They have no means to pay the lot; their children married early and did not finish their studies.

I do miss some of the neighbors. I think it is rare to have a good set of friends.

Yes, we will miss them for being friendly. They also look after our home when we were out.

It's sad when good neighbors are forced to move like that. I hope they are able to find a new place soon.

That is sad for your friend. They must live a very precarious existence.

Yes, they were so uncertain, but I hope her son who is working could help them with the monthly rental.

They began tearing it down to give way to another house to be constructed; not theirs, but to another owner.
