The heading was an inspiration from the movie “The Wizard of Oz” when going through the forest the characters are chanting “Lions and tigers and bears, oh, my”. Well there are no wild animals in my garden except for our furry cat Sid who was running around like a mad man with a few screws loose last week when the wind really picked up here. For some reason strong wind gets him going. Let’s see what has been happening. Last week we celebrated my hubby’s 65th birthday. Then at the end of the week we got our summer back and the weather went up into the 80s. That was good because the summer had become much too cool for me.
Then the weeds and the grass had a contest to see which could grow faster. Every day something had to be watered in the garden and our roses started blooming. Each day more and more tomatoes started ripening in the greenhouse and our cucumbers have started growing. Outside our cucumber and pumpkin patch is growing like crazy. It is difficult to weed because the pumpkin plant leaves are so large and one pumpkin vine has a death grip on a weed. So finally I have found a somewhat quiet evening to get online and start catching up on all I have missed. Oh, yes and we also got our pool cleaned up and filled up with fresh water and had a lovely swim this afternoon.
How is your garden growing?
