Quality or quantity of myLot discussions

After going through the many discussions here I 'm still unable to tell whether quality or quantity of discussions matters most. I think some will say both quantity and quality matter. But if you were to choose just one: either quality or quantity of myLot discussions that generate the most responses, comments as far as earning is concerned which would it be?

Too much quantity will give you nothing but failed flop discussions with no responses. I remember a member who makes 100 discussions a day and I made more money than him.

@CaptAlbertWhisker That's a valuable observation. Thanks.

@CaptAlbertWhisker You mean something like this? What if it goes on and on? Wouldn't that be like gaming the system somewhat?

@succeednow back and forth interaction is much better than having hundreds of flop threads.

it's better to do what feels good for you, what you enjoy, but at the same time be observant and be willing to experiment. i don't set earning goals here, don't pressure or compare myself. some of my visits are shorter. some are long but just reading and liking. just doing as i please. p.s. you have to put a comma in between the tags so they become 5 separate tags, instead of just 1 long tag with 5 words in it.

@hereandthere Yes, I don't set earning goal and I'm learning from my experience here. By the way thanks for the tip on placing commas on tags.

@JolietJake Yes, the problem is that we don't read what's on the screen. Or rather we read but don't take note of what we read until someone points it to us. We have people like you to thank for.

@JolietJake i think i'm going to save the way i wrote that tag tip in a notepad and just copy-paste it since i don't think i can write it much clearer than that.

It's neither quality nor quantity. It's just a matter of if you bring up a topic people are interested in discussing. Some people seem to have a knack for doing that. I'm not one of those people. But I like it here. The amount of discussion I do engage in here at myLot is usually quite lively!

I would like to say quality but sadly this is not a very serious discussion site.. However what matters most is how mcuh you really interact with others and how they respond to you.

@sofssu as you express it, it does make sense. I would not claim that my posts are quality. Actually my posts are just the vehicle to interact with my friends here. Maybe I should say quality friends.

I'd appreciate someone who'd write humorous yet thought-provoking stuff.

So quality doesn't matter to you, just the content?

@succeednow what is quality for you?

@sol_cee To me quality would be a very well-thought-out and written piece with no spelling or grammatical mistakes. Somewhat like those good quality articles that great writers write. Unlike those churned out by content mills which are quite trashy if I may add.

The thought of someone trying to do a quantity of posts makes me shudder. It is quality interaction that causes you to earn. If you post a huge quantity of posts and discussions you have no time to form quality relationships and interact with those you are connected to. I do not earn overwhelmingly a lot, but we can say that I easily passed cash out this month.I seldom write more than two posts in a day, sometimes I do not post at all.

Quality discussions. If I would allow myself to just write and write and write whatever discussions I wish to including what i eat for breakfast lunch and dinner, I would. But that's not me. I prefer two write something that I feel people could relate too and something that makes sense.

@carebear29 Do you have any personal experience on why you pick quality?

@succeednow It just depends on the subject and how it is written I guess

@succeednow,I think both are essential.A quality post is likely to draw more responses, and quantity helps you earn more.

@else34 Yes, I realize that but my question is which would you select if you only select one.

Quality for me, I do not even write every day, but I am very active and I receive many reponses to all my discussions.

You can post a lot of discussions but if hardly anyone participates in them it becomes useless. So, I think quality is more important than quantity. It's more important to post discussions that actually get a lot of people to participate and leave their thoughts/comments, even if it's only a few discussions, than to post lots of discussions that won't really get people involved. Granted, it's not always easy to know if a discussion you post will get people interacting with each other or not. You may think it will but in the end it won't.

From quite a bit more experience than my profile would suggest, quality wins over quantity easily. You make one quality discussion that attracts a lot of responses and you comment back and further the discussion it will earn more than ten discussions of lower quality.

@trivia79 That's seems to be opinion for the majority of responses I get from this post.

I think sometimes we just have to write without much thinking and that also helps.

It is not the quantity but always quantity. How thought provoking is a discussion is important. Comments will follow automatically unless one is biased.

I hope quality is more important although if you post often (non spam posts) you can make more money I think

@tzwrites From the opinion of the more experienced members here, it doesn't mean that the more one posts one will earn more if the posts are not quality posts.
