My iCloud is Being Slow

I've not had my Mac super long, maybe getting close to a year now which means I've only been using the iCloud for about as long. I've been attempting to move video from my phone to my Mac then to my iCloud this morning. My phone is jam-packed full of stuff taking up space. So I need to clear it.
I'm not sure what the deal is. I've been trying to check that the videos have successfully transferred to the cloud before I delete them from my phone. However, my cloud is being sooooooooo slow! These are 10 second video clips. I'm not sure what the deal is or if i should be concerned.
Do any of you ever notice the iCloud being slow? Seems so "un-Mac-like"

I have no idea what that is so I will not say mine is slow

the cloud just seems like a good place for some extra insurance of not losing your digital stuff

Good luck with that. I don't use Mac and am the farthest thing from a techie.
