Good Bye Bugs!

The bug man was here right on time this morning! He told us what the plan of attack was. While he tried to get us to sign up for an initial treatment today ($99) with every-other month treatments ($85 each) for a total of $609, we declined. That had to be paid upfront. Instead we went with one treatment today at $150. Today's spray is good for 30 days if we need one more after that he would do it for $85. We assumed he would treat the ants in the kitchen and be done with it. Nope....he treated the entire house. He sprayed around every room and he did the basement. He then went outside and sprayed all around the house, around each and every window, the foundation, the pool house, and several places where he spotted some ants. We had to keep moving Ruby around - once the spray dries it is harmless to her, but while it was wet we had to keep an eye on her. $150 was more than we thought it would cost, but he did far more than we thought! This spray is good to kill ants, spiders, roaches, beetles, mites and about 3 dozen other kinds of bugs. So far we have not seen one ant and hopefully we won't. He did say we could see a few for the next two weeks. But it won't be hundreds like we have been seeing. PS: He said do not spray Raid on your counters (which we had not done) - instead spray them with Windex! Photo: pixabay.com/en/good-bye-yellow-note-sign-sticker-1430149/

It is always good to get professional advice. What we have here is Japanese lady beetles, not lady bugs. I understand they leave a scent trail and that a good cleaner that is orange scented will repel them. I have heard that about ants as well.

So far so good. No it's not cheap, but for my mental state it's worth it.
