My Thankful Post

Again it's been a while since I wrote a thankful post. However, I do have a lot to be thankful for.
It's been a long day in the apartment. Housing to arrive around 11 to do the inspection. I needed to be here by 8 and was here by quarter to seven. The inspection went well and took all of five minutes.
AT&T also arrived this afternoon to get the internet, phone and TV set up. Everything is working well, in fact better than well. I'm wondering if I have cable with the apartment. I asked the installation guy about my package because I have a lot more channels than before, and he said it's the same package. So hey, as long as I'm not paying for the additional channels and they come with the apartment, I'm not going to fuss about it. I'll just enjoy the added bonus.
I triple love my apartment. It's nice and quiet here. I haven't heard hardly any noise here at all today, other than some doors opening and closing. Which is really nice.
I also triple love my new computer - Chip Jr. is a dream. I got a monitor even though I had one and am glad I did as there are some changes between old and new. I can also tell the difference in the one inch as my monitor at the house is 25" and this one is 24". That one inch can make a lot of difference in appearance if nothing else. It's going to take time to get used to the somewhat smaller screen.
It took a long time to get everything set up, and I'm sure I'm still not a hundred percent yet. It took a while to get the new Microsoft Office set up and then to find Word so I could write documents. But all's good, I have that taken care of now.
I know it took all day to get here, and I'm writing two in a row, but I need to get back to the house. My son works tonight.
On a note of prayer - my Uncle Kenny is in the hospital. They're still doing tests, but he is out of ICU. They don't know if he had a stroke or a heart attack. So needless to say the family reunion is canceled this week. Thanks for your prayers.
So that's it for me today. I need to sign off and get back to the house now. I will see you all tomorrow. I'll be here early.
I did get some unpacking done while I waited for everyone to show up. Hopefully I'll be able to get more over here tomorrow so I can get more done here. I'll get packing done at home tonight.

i'll keep yer uncle'n my heart, hon. that not knowin' can sometimes wear'n ya more'n knowin'.
so tickled that'cha started movin' 'nto the new place! i bet that 'twas a bit strange, needin' to set all 'p'n that new puter 'n a smaller screen. yepperz, that one lil inch don't sound like much, but makes a huge diff'rence. i've a 25" 'er that i'd with my ol' desktop (may't rest'n peace) that i still sometimes hook'p to this laptop when my eyes aint behavin'...like now :)

@just4him oh dear, i'll continue to keep him'n my thoughts, hon. i know such's a stress'n all, but hopefully this new place/doc's 'll get't figured out'n soon 've him'n the mend.
i hope ya get that monitor schtuff sorted out soon. eye strain jest kinda spoils the day :)

@crazyhorseladycx I'm getting used to the new monitor, but I just realized reading your comment that I'm getting right up close to it, so just might be changing to the old one after all when I get it over here.
I appreciate you keeping my Uncle Kenny in prayer. I haven't heard anything new, so I hope that means everything is good and they're finding the problem.

Thank you so much. He's just not getting better like we'd like. They're moving him to another hospital in Madison - the state capital which is a couple hours away from home for him. I just hope they find the root to all that's going on.
Yes, that one inch makes a huge difference. I'm tempted to switch out monitors just so I can see proper again and not put so much strain on my eyes, but I also know I shouldn't sit so close to the screen, which with the drafting table I do have it set back a ways, so that's also different. That desk I have is short and narrow, so it brought that screen up close. So maybe this will be better for my eyes in the long run.
Took a needed break today from all the moving. My knees and back wouldn't allow me to do anything. So with the break today I should be able to get back to packing tomorrow. So no, I'm not overdoing it.

I hope your Uncle is well again soon and I am so glad that everything went well with the inspection and the installation. Sounds like you will be happy there. did your son get his application in?

I just talked to my sister and they are moving Uncle Kenny to another hospital. They can't find the source of the problem. So it's quite concerning. So thank you for your well wishes for him. Yes, the inspection and installation went well.
My son decided not to go for the apartment. He doesn't want to get locked into a year lease as he wants to buy a house, so for the time being he'll put his stuff in storage and live with his girlfriend.

Hope your uncle is okay. When it rains it pours. How much do you have left at the house? Don't you have a certain date you have to be out of there?

August 30 is the out date. Most of the packing I think is done. It's down to the odds and ends and what we've been using all the time. So it really shouldn't take long. I'm not packing up the closets as they're already basically packed and can move as is. So it shouldn't take long. It's just nitpicky stuff and time consuming as well.

@Jessicalynnt His TV is fine, though he is getting another, a 65" and he'll have the one he has for his bedroom when he moves.

I am just happy to hear that everything went well for you. Sending prayers of fast recovery for your Uncle Kenny. My day is sunny and I am happy with that. We've been having rains for two days and I guess Mr. Sun is a welcome sight.

I hope you'll get a chance to find out about her @just4him I wish I knew what happened to most of my Aunts and Uncles, they would be in their 90s by now if they're still alive. I only knew about mom's oldest sister and only brother who are both deceased.

I've come a long way since that day. I still love being here. I hate AT&T and couldn't wait to change to Spectrum, the only other option. This complex is awesome and the staff is great and helpful even when you don't have anything wrong with the apartment.
Uncle Kenny is doing well. He's my late mother's youngest brother. There are only two left now. My aunt Dorie, whom I never hear anything about. She's older than my late mother was, second in the family while my late mother was third. Uncle Kenny was the fifth and youngest.

I'll probably go get him so he can have the car and then he'll bring it back to me when he gets done working. Otherwise I'll pick him up, take him to work and then pick him up. We'll work it out.

I just talked to my sister to find out and it's not good. They can't find the answers so they are transferring him to another hospital in the state capital a couple hours away. I hope they are able to get to the root of the problem.
Yes, it will be good to get finally settled here and get everything unpacked. A couple weeks yet before everything is done.
