The bride-to-be is still a "child". But in a few months she'll be ready to, as the kids say, "marry" her anxious mate. That's right! We got Mr. Marshmallow Cookie a dough. Er, I mean, doe! She's a black Standard Rex. But she's still a "baby". And she's nameless. My daughter, A, wants to name the doe, Blackberry Son, B, wants to honor @Hanyouyomi by calling her, Kunoichi C wants to name her, GlaDOS And the little girlies want to call her, Princess In the midst of all the naming hullabaloo, hubby informed me that he wanted to have a "theme" with the rabbit names. Marshmallow has a "sweet" name, so his wifey will need a "sweet" name as well. Unless, of course, I can talk hubby into calling her something like: She whose name shall not be uttered. or The Impossible Girl. Voting, poles, etc. aren't allowed on mylot so I'll just ask for "advice": Does anyone know of a sweet, dark food that would fit this darling doe? Or do you, ahem, "like" one of the names the kids are clamoring for?

I think Mousse would be a good name for a rabbit.

And it would match the "M" in Marshmallow's name!! Marshmallow and Mousse! I'll have to add this to the list for hubby to see!

@Genipher When I read that your son wanted to name the doe "Kunoichi," in honor of me, my first thought was "Awe, I'm flattered..." But that flattery immiadtely turned to dread, as I thought:"OMG, what have I done?" I should've known such exposure would have an effect on your kids.Whelp, I already made this bed, might as well lie in it. I think Kunoichi, unless she has a collar might make her difficult to discern from her mother, which I don't think anyon wants.(Ofcourse that's my paranioa talking...) So I sought ou other names. For starters, the character I created inspired by Ninja I named "Nina," which is derived from Antonio/Antonia which means "Flower." :p But if you're going with matching the "M" in Marshallow, I thought of "Makoto." Since I advised showing your children the DiC dub of Sailor Moon, I might as well mention this now, but the scout called "Sailor Jupiter(Who looks like this: is named "Lita" in the DiC dub which is said to have been chosen to be a pun on "Lightening" which is Sailor Jupiter's element. Her actual name in Japanese and the more accurately name English dubs by Viz Media is "Makoto" which means "sincerity." (I might regret having told you all of that...) But you can probably guess why DiC didn't go with calling her "Makoto..." Figured it'd be a hard name for American kids to remember...Same goes for Sailor Venus (also known as "Sailor V" who looks like this:http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/p__/images/0/0d/Sailor_venus_crystal_render_by_luna_ris-d7gg6ya.png/revision/latest?cb=20140720013154&path-prefix=protagonist) who's actual name is "Minako" which means "Beautiful Child."("Mi" being "beautiful" and "Ko" meaning "child.") Which given that's she's Ninja's daughter would make some sense... However in the DiC dub Sailor V's name was shorted to "Mina" which is a nickname for "Minako" or if youwanna go by the englished derived name of Wilhamina" which means "Protection Of Will."(to be blunt.) ButI think DiCwas going for the former. :p And then, stupid me had to think back to a comic series I created called "Nether Tales," and my character "Mandy," who's a bubbly, upbeat and sociable girl(she looks like this:http://www.animeartists.org/Img1340_Nether_Tales_Mandy_.asp) Which makes her the opposite of Mandy from The Grim Adventures Of Billy And Mandy" who she was based off of, who is bitter and grim.(Making Mandy the opposite of her inspiration was a happy accident...) But the reason why Mandy crossed my mind, is because the dress she wears is supposed to black. And lastly I don't know WHY as a fan of the Metal band, Iron Maiden, listening to "Phantom Of The Opera" had me thinking:"Maiden might a be good suggestion too. :p But to sum up my suggestions for matching with Marshellow's name are: Makoto Minako Mandy Maiden Though given that Mousse is a chocolate foam, that might be the best option. You can also add Marzipan, or Marang to that list. :p Okay making a bed and lying in it, as I think I've taken a shovel and buried myself six feet under.

The only black sweet/candy I can think of is Licquorice. If you want one beginning with an 'M', then it might have to be Mississippi Mud Pie but that is only almost black. She's a very pretty rabbit, by the way.

Another name for the list! I love black licorice...I'm one of the few oddballs in the family that'll eat it. Most go for the red. Blah. Yeah, and she's sooooo soft. That's one of the things the Rex breed is known for. Their super-soft fur. She almost looks unreal, she's so shiny. Reminds me of the Velveteen Rabbit.

@Genipher Most would be appalled at the suggestion but I have to say that I would love a waistcoat (or a coat or a collar or a muff or slippers) made from fur like that!

Yup. We hope to sell them as pets or use them for more nefarious, carnivorous means.

@owlwings I used to have a freezer full of rabbit skins. Well, by full I mean I had about 5 of them. I was planning on tanning them myself so I could make slippers or gloves or something but I never did. I ended up just throwing the skins away. Isn't that sad?
