UGH! I been telling my husband for the longest now that we need to quit smoking. I have tried to quit before, but with two smokers in the house it is kinda of hard. Ironically, I had stop smoking for about 12 years cold turkey and then the I started back up again when I divorced my ex husband. I guess you can call me an stress smoker! I can imagine what are lungs look like now :) Anybody else quit smoking? If so, what did you do to stop?

takes loads'f will power to quit when there's someone'n the home who's no desire to do such. i quit fer 9 months, whilst the hubs 'twas workin' outta town. sadly, i took the habit back'p shortly 'fter he returned. 't the time, seemed better'n needin' bail money. best 'f luck to ya, hon. i fear there's no magical answer that's a 'one size fits all'. sometimes ya jest gotta take that leap'f faith 'n not get discouraged when ya slip'p.

Thank you! I wanted to quit with my husband to make it easier, but he isn't' ready to quit. Why I don't have a clue. I guess I will just have to take that leap on my own and hopefully he will follow.

I only smoked a little in College. It never did much for me, and I felt it left bad taste in my mouth. So, I was able to quit easily. Now, my older son , on the other hand is a chain smoker. His Dad & I have pleaded with him the dangers of smoking but he doesn't listen to us one bit. He is only 25 and I bet his lungs are black as tar.

My mother has been smoke free for about 16 years now. She just put them down and stopped smoking and hasn't had one since then. She said what helped her was knowing that they were there if she wanted one and knowing they were there made it easier to not want them. She said that someone telling her she couldn't have just forced her into wanting them more and caused her to smoke one.

You can stop smoking by educating yourself about the dangers and make that effort to control yourself. Also quitting association with friend who smoke can help...PLEASE REMEMBER SMOKERS ARE LIABLE TO DIE YOUNG!!! STAY ALIVE!!! STOP SMOKING!!! YOUR LIFE MATTERS!!!
