Here Are My Birdies

I thought I'd share a picture of my birds. The white parakeet with pretty colors is Piper, the green parakeet hanging from the top of the cage chewing on the toy is Lollipop. And the cockatiel standing on their cage lording it over them is Annie. How 'bout you? Do you have pets? The birds are good company for me these days. The parakeets sing and chatter all day long, and the cockatiel is so sweet and affectionate.

I love their names and the photo! I'm babysitting my younger son's two cats. One for 1 1/2 weeks, and one for 8 months. Don't ask. Lol!

I grew up with parakeets since my mother didn't want any other pets in her house. But now I have a cat. She's 13 and the best friend I have. She "talks" to me all the time (mostly yelling at me because her food bowl is empty!) and I love driving her crazy right back. She's a lot of fun and I'm so glad I have her with me!

I had kitties in the past. Love when they lay next to you or in your lap purring. So sweet

@CinnamonGrl My cat comes and snuggles a lot when the weather gets cold. During these hot summer months I don't see her as much, unless she's hungry. And then she comes and screams at me! lol

Your birdies are lovely. I do not have pets, but I feed the wild birds and the cat of my neighbor loves to come inside for a visit, he is a cute kitty.

I like parakeets and cockatiels. Do they all live in the same cage? Now that I look more closely, it appears they're next door neighbors.

No, because I got the cockatiel long after the parakeets. Lollipop is very aggressive and territorial. So Annie lives next door.

The birds are so cute, and I bet that cockatiel has quite the personality! We've always had cats, and sometimes fish, but my husband did rescue a newborn robin who was in a fallen nest. We gave him his own room, away from the cats. We kept him warm, fed him frequently, and he grew up healthy and flew away!

Hmmm, I like birds, and your birds look like parrots to me. I know this kind of birds cannot imitate human talks, but, they twit a lot. Do you think you can understand some of their twits ? When they hungry ? when they see someone stranger coming into the house ? But, is it necessary to put them in a cage ? I mean, if you love them, why not letting them fly around in the house ?

@CinnamonGrl Ok, thanks. Do you understand some of their twits ? Do you like listening to their songs ?

Annie is out of her cage most of the time. The parakeets have to be pretty closely supervised when they're out, they get into a lot of mischief that's dangerous for them.

I have a budgie and used to have a cockatiel earlier. The cockatiel is really very affectionate. Used to keep whistling all day. This picture brought back all those memories.

I think I might find the birds' chirping distracting.

It would be if it was very loud, I couldn't have a screamy parrot, for sure!

No birds for us but we do have two dogs, a Russian tortoise, and two lizards. I never had a bird but I remember my grandma having a parrot when I was very little. Your birds are so pretty

I'd say you don't need birds when you have two dogs, a Russian tortoise and two lizards

Beautiful birds. My grandfather used to own a cockatiel and parrot; they both adored each other.

Very lovely, my dear. I wish I could have pets like yours. And their names are even lovelier. I'm sure if have kids at home, they always happy to feed them. We have one spotted pig and a doggie at home.

I have two dachshunds that keep me company. Bella is the oldest at 8 years and Daisy is the youngest at 1 year. They are my babies. I love your birds. I had two cockatiels about 7 years ago but had to give them away to a good friend when I moved as it was a very long trip and I was afraid that it would stress them out too much.

I have two dogs, two fish tanks, and one bird. We have a green bird named Dixie. I don't know what kind she is since she is my mother's and I am not really a fan of birds.
