A Little Too Honest!

I bought a Jeep CJ7 (the predecessor to the Jeep Wrangler) back in 1985, and I finally decided to sell it in 2005, twenty years and 321,000 miles later! Although I loved that Jeep, I had a growing family and it was time to move on to something that was more family-friendly. That Jeep was in really good condition for a vehicle so old and with so many miles, and still purred like a kitten when I drove her, but I wanted to get rid of it quickly, so I listed it for $500. The very first guy who was interested came by to take a look at it, and then said he wanted to buy it, but he had to run to the bank. I figured I'd never see him again, but about 30 minutes later he came back and handed me $1000. I told him the Jeep was only $500, and said he felt like he would be ripping me off if he didn't buy it for what he thought it was worth. The two of us ended up arguing over how much he was going to give me. I even walked around the Jeep and pointed out everything that was wrong with. I think to appease me, he finally offered me $800, which I reluctantly accepted. Little did I know, when he left that night he put the other $200 in my mailbox, which I found the next morning. How often do you ever see something like that happen?

Yeah, although I didn't know him, or never saw him again, I thought he was a real class act!

I agree! That would never happen again in a million years! It must have been fate or something!

What was really nice is that the guy planned to put a lot of work into and completely restore it back to new. I'm sure if he followed through on what he planned on doing, that Jeep is probably worth quite a bit now.
