Day 147 Psalm 126 Psalm 126:1 < When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. 3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. 4 Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. 5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goes forth and weeps, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Many things hold us captive: drugs, cigarettes, pornography, bad habits, any number of things, even something as innocent seeming as coffee. We go to great lengths to get rid of our bad habits and live a guilt-free lifestyle. Free from the snares that bind us, holding us captive until we determine to shake ourselves loose and declare our freedom from such addictions. For the psalmist, his captivity was exile from his homeland, Israel, the land God promised them before they were a nation, when Abraham looked to the stars and God told him his seed would be more than they are. He longed to see his homeland with every breath he took and every song he sang. He knew that one day he would be free to return home and his family would go with him. As Christians, Satan held us in bondage until that day when we accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, denouncing the old ways and putting on a new nature, founded in Christ Jesus our Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (KJV) What is holding you captive? You can turn your life over right now to Jesus Christ, God’s Son, and you will be free from Satan’s hold on your life. Let’s pray: Father, help me to lay hold of the new life you gave me in your Son, Jesus Christ. Help me to live, love, laugh, dance, and sing for joy every day of my life because my life is in you. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 13 August 2016 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

That was very challenging and I needed to be challenged. Thank you for sharing. It was really good. I prayed the prayer with all sincerity and I believe He'll answer God bless you for this discussion. I hope you do more as what is on your heart is needed here in myLot land for all us Christians and non Christians.
