I Will Probably Be Up Late Tonight

This afternoon, I was watching the Olympics and I got so sleepy, I decided to take a nap and slept for over three hours. I hope it doesn’t keep me up too late because I have a busy day planned for tomorrow. I had hoped to just take a short nap, but nothing woke me up and I just slept on. I guess I needed the rest, because I feel much better now. I just watched the British runner fall down in his event and then end up winning the race after all. What an act of courage! You could see that he had injured his shoulder and his leg, I think. I want to watch some of the divers, so I’m going back downstairs and see what I can find. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. It’s really HOT here.

YOu jus tknow that will be a movie some day, the guy who fell down and then later won. Inspirational and all that. Seemed painful. The diving is spectacular, it's one of the few things I like in the summer games. I always watch the winter ones, I just like the sports better. I don't nap well. It seems like if I sleep in the day I wake up cranky. I can only do it if I'm really sick.

I like the diving also, but I keep missing it for some reason. First of all, I didn't realize that it was on two different channels. More than two, I think. Sometimes I do wish that I had not taken a nap.

I have been doing that just about every afternoon since the Olympics started! I'll lay on the couch when I get home from work to watch the games, and end up falling asleep for a little while. And then, I'm up half the night because of my nap. These Olympics are really messing up my sleep schedule! lol

I know. I like to watch the Olympics too and they are on until midnight and then some are on even after that.

@IreneVincent I keep getting frustrated when I get home from work each afternoon though. NBC takes a break from Olympic coverage from 6-8pm, and it's always within that time that I get home from work and turn on the tv to see what is going on in the Olympics. Geez, NBC, just show coverage 24/7!

@moffittjc I guess the NEWS is needing broadcast at that time slot. I noticed that too.

If I take a nap during the day I have a terrible time trying to sleep at night. It has been so hot the past few days I have not been able to sleep well at all.

@IreneVincent I absolutely cannot sleep with just a sheet over me. I have to have the weight from my quilt to sleep so I need it very cool in my room or I sweat so bad and am too hot to sleep.

@shaggin I love a quilt or comforter in the winter, but I get too hot in the summertime. I understand though, how you feel. I love to snuggle down into the bed with a quilt over me.

It really is HOT here too and even though I have the ceiling fan running at night in my bedroom, I am sleeping with not even a sheet over me. I'm not sleeping that well, so I get sleepy during the day and then I take a nap and I've gotten to a cycle now, that I don't like. I'm just going to have to make myself NOT take a nap and get back to my normal sleeping habits.

I say awake every night until one or two in the morning. I wake up between seven or eight. I hardly ever take a nap.

I need more sleep that you do, I think. Some people, like you, can get by on very little sleep, I guess. I'm not one of them.

Yes, the Olympians come from a wide range of backgrounds and each has their life story.
