Little Eric, who is seven years old was bit today by another neighbors dog. Eric was out playing when the neighbors dog lunged at him and knocked him down. He got scratches on his fast and down his chest and stomach. Then the dog bit his thigh.
The owner got out there and got a hold of the dog. I talked to the daughter of the people that own the dog and they said they are taking him to the dog pound tomorrow.
Eric's mom took him to the emergency room. He didn't have to get stitches which is a blessing.
As of now the police haven't been notified unless the hospital reports it. I was told that Eric's parents are going to call them tomorrow.

@velvet53 This is an unfortunate event. Didn't the hospital give Eric an injection as a precaution?

@silvermist The owners took the dog to the dog pound and had it put to sleep. Sad, huh?

@velvet53 I do not know. But if there was no complaint lodged, then there won't be any action I suppose.

It's easy to get upset over someone being attacked by a dog. Seems more to the story or they were making up about taking it to the pound the next day to try to stay out of trouble.
Good that there were no stitches needed! It's scary when a child gets hurt, no matter how it happens.

so the neighbors pup was outta 'ts yard? i'm glad to hear that the lil fella didn't require stitches, but the folks should've called the law so all could be documented. confused a tad o'er the owners takin' their pup to the vet tomorrow?? does that mean 't aint current'n 'ts shots 'n they fear repercussion?

@crazyhorseladycx That is true. I remember a dog we had when I was growing up. The boys up the street would throw things at him and he would start to chase them. We got him stopped before he even left the yard. He finally quit doing that. It is not always the dogs fault but they are the ones that pays in the end.

In my country, a dog that bites is immediatly put down. And the person that is bitten has to has shots unless the dog“s owners have papers for vaccination against rabies which is mandatory.

You have to wonder what the dog owners are thinking if the dog was off a leash.
