Mine was busy. One of the softball teams I play on was in a post-season tournament yesterday and today. We had finished second two years in a row, and hadn't won the tournament since 2009. Today, we took care of business and won the tournament, winning the last game by the unusually low score of 5-3.
Now, I can put the sports part of myself on hold for awhile and focus on other stuff. Tonight, I practice music with our "Western Swing" band. After that, it's wine and relaxation.
Have you ever been involved in competitive sports? Are you sometimes glad when it's over and you can rest and do other things?

Congratulations! Yes, I was involved in competitive sports most of my life. No longer, but I sometimes miss it.

@teamfreak16 I do too, even in sports where I'm competing against others.

When I was in school, we participated in throwball competitions. A few years later, I participated in badminton competition, and was THIRD. I love playing..and physical activity. Now that home loans are over (or nearly over) I am seriously considering restarting my gardening project, which was closed down for the last three years because we did not have enough rains.

Congratulations, pony, to you and your teammates! I am sure you are all stoked to the max!
I haven't done any sports in many years... I used to lift weights in competition and I used to compete in a mixed martial arts competition. (I did Tae Kwon Do.)

@TheHorse I didn't stop doing either of those by my choice! I was ordered by the judge in my first divorce to stop taking Pretty to the gym because her mother claimed she was afraid Pretty would get hurt amongst the weight lifters. (This didn't even get brought up until six years after we started going to the gym, either!)
She was allowed to be in the room where the tv and stationary bikes were while I worked out with the free weights. There was nothing there to hurt her, but the judge didn't want to listen to Pretty's mom gripe in court.
Same for the Tae Kwon Do. Even though we were taking Tae Kwon Do classes for two years before the divorce started. (Pretty and I were both taking the class.)
It didn't make sense then and still doesn't!

@DaddyEvil Get hurt by weightlifters dropping weights on her? Don't most people use machines these days? What can be harmful about Tae Kwon Do? I don't practice Martial Arts (except in my thinking), but doesn't it teach body control and discipline, as much as or more than kicking azz?

I am not very athletic, I always wanted to learn to dance or something, but didnt get a chance. Now I think if I did anything it might be to take a yoga class

@TheHorse I have a crooked back, and so many things, well hurt. I think the balancing and stretching there would be helpful, and then maybe I could get into martial arts like I have always wanted (no competitions though... those make me panic)

I had not played softball for many years, but started playing again when I was in my early 60s. I was not the best player or the fastest but could still catch, hit and run. I played two seasons but made the manager nervous about my age. It was an over 40 league. Glad you won first place!

@JamesHxstatic Thought that you couldn't get down for ground balls or something? It's all about staying loose.

@TheHorse They were just concerned, I guess, about my age.

I don't know how you'd classify being a professional miniature golfer, "competitive sports" or not. I love the season, because I get to see all these people I've played with for 15 years and spend my summer with them.
Regarding western swing, have you seen the Quebe Sisters? They blow my mind with those harmonies and three fiddles.
