Siri & Suicide: She is listening

I learned some startling and interesting things listening to “The Takeaway” broadcast while on the way to work yesterday. One is that the suicide rate is up 30% in the United States; over 38000 people in the US committed suicide last year, while claiming over 800,000 worldwide.
Another thing is that if you use an iPhone and write that you might kill yourself, Siri will offer to connect you to a suicide hotline. If you post something like that on FB, it will soon be reported to local law enforcement.
I had no idea that there were that many suicides in the US and it is apparently a worldwide problem. Did you know anyone who was a suicide?

How unfortunate that is, since there are many treatments these days.

@JamesHxstatic And the most sad is that he did not even have cancer. He went out one day for a walk, he bought two bottles of vodka and finished them all together with some sort of pills. They found him in the morning, but the doctors were unable to save him.

I believe that it is anywhere in text. We don't use iPhones either.
