I need help with hyperlinking

I am writing a blog for someone on a completely different site, I need to include at least one hyperlink. I know what hyperlinking is but I have never learned how to do it. I am needing to hyperlink something in my blog to the client's website. Can some one give me easy to understand info on how to hyperlink? I can not find easy to understand instructions anywhere.
