My Morning So Far... No Bears

Well, you know how I feel about the bears that I just learned will likely be visiting our property sometime in the coming year. I almost wish that I hadn't asked the former owners. This morning B and I went out and I sang at the top of my lungs as she picked up all the apples that had fallen from the tree. (Back is still preventing me from picking them up) I guess that the bears weren't hungry this morning, because none of them were touched. Or maybe it was my singing lol. B turned to look at me and said, "for heaven's sake mom... stop singing. You will bring them out of the woods just to see who is making that awful noise" lol. Anyway, that has been my morning so far. Not sure what else is on the agenda... but maybe ordering some bear bells... but I'm sure that I can sing louder than the bells can tinkle!

lol that is one way to keep them away. I am surprised that they are not around your apple trees. That is what usually brings them around. I hope you are lucky and never encounter one. We have them around here and they have been in the yard but I have never been outside and run into one, yet!

I hope that I don't either. We have 4 apple trees on the property and one is short enough that they could probably pick all that they want quite easily. I remember a rhubarb farmer in Shelburne Ontario used to play classical music all night long to the fields. Not sure of the benefit other than maybe lulling the bears to sleep!! Maybe Ozzie Osborne from loud speakers on the property. I loved being outside and now I'm scared to go far from the house!!
