I'm trying to find the transcripts of three coroner's inquests, two from 1960 and one from 1955. I've contacted the medical examiner's office in the county where the inquests took place and was told they have no such records older than 1991. He also said he didn't know where I'd go to find such records.
I contacted the state capital to see if maybe the state archived old records. The advice I received there was to ask the county where the inquests took place to see what they do with their culled records. In the state capital, for example, they donate their to the historical society.
I contacted the historical society in the county where the inquests took place and the latest news is that they have no records of inquests.
Anyone offer ideas of where to proceed? My own include contacting the university in the town and see if they have a local history department. Or contacting the courthouse to see records are kept there. The city where the inquests took place is the county seat.
Anybody with industry insight?

Of course, I am not in the industry. I wonder if you could try contacting the doctor's that worked on these cases, the decedent's doctors. They might know about the inquests or give you a clue where to go. These are probably not public records but if you keep nosing around, you might find a way to access them.

@msiduri I am not one to suggest any idea about this. I do not know the customs or rules there. But how about the court house?
