Lighting them up for the First Time

Once said by a teacher in a TV series I was watching "Teaching the youth is like Lighting them up for the first time" I know the feeling, it seems that a teacher can be very instrumental in the lighting of interest, motivating their keenness, spurring on their ambition, and many other ways - you might like to tell. So if you know any teachers - what have they done for you in your life to have made a difference. The reason I am a teacher is because someone once said to me "you have the capacity and patience to make a difference in one child's life" So year after year I strive to do just that.

Teaching is something I wanted to do from a very early age. I loved most of my teachers. But it was a high school English teacher who really solidified things for me. She really challenged me with a paper I was required to do. She gave me a topic that was difficult and yet brought out the best in my writing because I had to work so hard at it. And what she did for me has followed me through all of my life.

One doesn't realise how a single act or positive motivation can change the course of our lives. Thank you for sharing

@SophieY We definitely don't realize that when we're younger. But once we reach a certain age and turn around and look back...we can see some of those ripples very clearly.
