I was watching Extreme Cheapskates and my goodness, these people are bending over backwards just to save money. I want to save money as well but I probably would not go through that lengths to do that.
I plan to not buy anything from any earnings I earn online so my main income is still from my job and my savings are from here.
I want to learn from mylotters how you save money. Who knows maybe I can copy some tips.

I save money by shopping around for deals on the things I buy. I buy generics a lot if they are good quality ones because they're usually cheaper than the name brands. If I'm going to a restaurant I try to find coupons for it online. When the supermarket has a great special on something I buy in bulk and freeze most of it if it is something that keeps well in the freezer.

When it comes to medicine, I buy generic too. I like the other advices, regarding the buying in bulk. Thanks for this.

I always buy generic medicines if they are available to me. It's much better than paying full price for the name brand and they work just as well.

Don´t buy branded goods. You are just paying the name. Put of the lights where it was not used. Don´t buy what you don´t need. Don´t take a shower for an hour, 10 minutes will do unless you are so dirty
. Buy in packs as the goods are cheaper than when you just buy one
when you need it. These are only some of the tips and i do them all. What I can save, I´ll put it in my "travel bank"

I have a garden with strawberries, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Also have bushes with blueberries and raspberries and one lemon tree. This saves me money, as less produce to buy and freeze anything that we can't eat right away. I do look for sales and buy produce when its in season, as some produce is really high because its not locally grown like cherries.
I have watched the show and sometimes gain some tips to save money; however, it does make me shake my head when I see them do something that is unhealthy or just not safe. If you do something that makes you sick and end up needing medication or end up in the hospital to make you healthy, then you haven't saved money.
One tip I haven't seen posted is bartering, as when you trade products your saving money. I barter some of my lemons for other produce, as I don't have room to grow all the vegetables and fruits that my family enjoys eating now. My neighbors that don't have a Lemon Tree were happy to trade. Several neighbors have Orange Trees, so I'm having fresh squeezed Orange Juice right now.

I have not thought about this until now that you said it and you are right, it makes perfect sense to grow your food than to buy it. And there is no doubt that the fruits are fresh. Thank you for this lovely idea.
I agree as well about your comments about the show. I don't understand the logic of why they are doing that will be unhealthy for them in the long run.

When I read lessons on saving money, I am motivated to save. However, after a month or two, I think I'm having difficulty in disciplining myself. I tend to go back to the old habit of spending, spending, and more spending without really taking the discipline to save, save, and save more. Sometimes, I do really hate this self for not making it a habit and lifestyle to save.

Sometimes we do lack the willpower but even if we make mistakes we should just get back up the horse again and save, save and save more. Do not give up.
