I'm Glad Lollipop Has a Job

My green parakeet, Lollipop, has an important job. From sunup to sundown, she "processes" newspaper. Pulls it up through the cage grate, chews it up and throws little pieces onto my bedroom carpet. I'm so grateful to her for working so hard. Now to find her a little birdie vacuum. Who are your pets? In what ways do they assist you in your daily life? lol

@cinnamongrl My wife's 4 cats are a liability and serve no useful purpose whatsoever other than paying for our vet's mortgage.

My first cockatiel, Corky, was a logger for awhile. She sawed all her perches in two

caged birds're lots 'f work :) they tend to get quiet messy. the pups help me to go feed the horses (ya know, so they can snag 'em some oats, too), the horses'n turn provide fertilizer :)

Lollipop is an unique name for your parakeet. I have a cat named Wylie. He does keep me on my toes and I'm never lonely.

Animals are good company. That's why Lolli gets away with her shreding. I can't seem to teach her, lol

@KristenH The male parakeet doesn't do it, he plays with the toys like a good boy. Maybe she thinks she's going to make a nest

Awww, do you have a photo of Lollipop? I have two beagle/border collies and they daily fertilize my back yard. Of course when it is time to cut the grass, someone has to clean up the clumps of fertilizer, so maybe I can get them their own pooper scooper to clean up after themselves..

@CinnamonGrl I think I remember now, or maybe another member posted pics of their bird. I will check it out.

There is a picture of all three birds in one of my discussions. I will get more individual pictures here eventually. I have a little hand held dirt devil to get the seeds and feathers around my birdcages. But it always looks a mess around there

Oh yes, my little dogs,Beau, Brie and Honey keep my sofa cushions warm and keep the pillows from getting lonely. They also pick up any crumbs of food that we may drop. Busy little beavers are they!! lol

LOL, at least she is busy all the day. I have no pets, but the cat of our neighbor loves to spend his days in our garden and when he can he jumps inside our home from the window.

Oh my, what a naughty parakeet. I think I'd be finding her a bit of tarpaulin, or some such, to rest the cage on.

I have two dogs and I named them as Chin and Chan. Not quite nice names for pets but I like them. They have a lot of jobs in our house too especially when they were still young like eating wires of our appliances, etc. but not anymore now when they grew up.

My pet cats assist me by coming for cuddles at times when I feel stressed and need to slow down. Other than that, I suppose they help me round the house by eating up cheese crumbs that have landed on the carpet.

It would be nice if I could find a seedcatcher the right size. If I were creative enough I could probably figure out a way to fashion one
