Car Problems and Weight Loss Update

Not exactly what I was hoping to do this weekend - sit in a car place getting the car looked at to determine what's wrong - today for about 3 hours as I had no appointment, and tomorrow for about 2.5 hours to fix the problems because I do have an appointment.
The good thing is that the car will be in good condition when all is finished tomorrow.
I was headed to the Y this morning for the first time this week when I smelled gas and knew that wasn't right and knew I had to do something right away. So after my time at the Y and getting myself situated for the day here, I headed over to Tires Plus to get it looked at. They will be replacing an O2 sensor and taking care of the fuel system. The good thing is there aren't any gas leaks.
Today's total for the vehicle inspection came to $11. Tomorrow will be a whole lot more.
Now for the good news - my weight loss update - I stepped on the scale before leaving the Y and found another 2 pounds gone. So I have lost a total of 8 pounds so far -
Now I'm going to spend some time with you all working on notifications which are so far behind now I'll need to extract them from my e-mails. However, I'll work these first which is still a goodly number.
How is your day going and if you are in the US do you have plans for the Labor Day holiday weekend?
Thanks for reading

@jstory7 Are you on SSI? If you have an SSI advantage program it is free. Otherwise, you can buy a seasonal membership which would be a lot cheaper.

I hope the gig went well. It wasn't too bad all things considering. My friend's significant other came to look at the plugs and wires yesterday, just to make sure I didn't need to spend anything on them, and for the most part I didn't, but he did find the reason for the check engine light always being on - one of the wires has been rubbed almost bare on the fan, so it's temporarily fixed until I can get it back in and get a new wire and have them fix it so it won't rub on the fan anymore.

Yes it has and I'm so glad it just seems to keep coming off. The car problems aren't over yet, but almost.

@just4him Awesome lady good for you. One day at a time one pound at a time with the good Lords help. How much do you want to get off? I've got about 26 more pounds to get off. I'm counting on the Lord to help me as He has already helped me get 70 pounds off. My biggest struggle is being patient with myself as its taken a couple of years to get off the 70 pounds. God is helping me to learn to eat right too. I tend to go from one extreme to another.

@Butchcass4 I need to lose half of me 125. I'm now down 12 and counting. It's been easy for me to switch my eating habits. I don't like eating fast food, and I don't buy soda, two things I did a lot while my son lived with me. But I didn't drink a lot of soda, that was mostly for my son. Now that we aren't living together any longer, I'm eating scratch made from fresh foods, so the salt is almost eliminated from my diet. If sodium is anywhere it's in the milk I drink, and I'm drinking a lot more of that along with water, which I was drinking a lot of anyway before I moved. I'm also in the pool six days a week also an easy switch for me to make once I was able to pay for the membership, thanks to my inheritance. So things are going down for me and I'm very glad. I'm feeling the difference too, as I mentioned in my most recent post a short while ago. I know it is God who is controlling my eating as I have no real desire for any of the preservative laced food I was eating before or fast food. I've had some, did today, but it isn't something I do on a regular basis anymore.

@just4him I added a bit on, but it's that crampy time of the month for me, so I alway put a bit back on, the key is not letting it stay too long but getting it back off, maybe next month I will see another 5 once those 3 I added back on are gone

That's great on your weight loss. When I went to my great-aunt's house for Labor Day, she and my cousin said I looked like I lost weight. I didn't believe them. But i stepped on the scale when I got home, and I did lose one pound. But I really don't need to lose weight.

Maybe you're doing something that makes you look like you've lost a lot of weight, even though it was only one pound. I'm at a standstill at the moment, but I'm still eating right and exercising, so I know that I'll see some progress again soon.

I hope you had a wonderful relaxing Labor Day weekend. Yes, it does seem like they are coming off in two's. That's fine by me as long as the pounds come off. So far the car expense has been reasonable. One last trip will see it finished.

This last time it didn't set me back even a penny. They found the problem and fixed it at no cost.

Congratulations on your weight loss and I hope it isn't too expensive to fix your car.

A friend of mine looked over the estimate and it was reasonable except for one item, so since I had plugs and wires done a year ago, it seemed fruitless to do it again so soon. So that wasn't done, though I do need to get one wire replaced on it, as it turns out. But only the one wire, not all of them.

I hope not too, but I do need to take it in one last time for a wire problem. That should be the last time.
