Should BBQ Brushes Be Banned?

According to this article (below) getting a wire bristle stuck in your throat from a BBQ brush isn't uncommon. Apparently the wire can get stuck on the food or on the grill that the food is on and can get swallowed.
It would seem to me that a person who uses a wire BBQ brush would be able to tell that they need a new brush before the wire bristles would actually fall off. Also, maybe it's been happening but just never been picked up by the media.
So, since it's Labor Day weekend and people will be grilling, will you get rid of your wire BBQ brush?
~Peace~

I use a wire brush every other day on 2 industrial grills...can't manage without them
They shouldn't be banned people should just take more care when using them and replace them regularly.

I can see this happening occasionally but not often. If it is happening in certain situations I would think seriously about banning the use of them.

Personally, I don't barbecue. I wouldn't even know where to begin. Having said that, one is better to invest in a higher quality brush (rather than dollar store brand) and know when it's time to get a new one. Perhaps after using the brush on the grill, follow-up by wiping it down with a rag.
