Songs in Two Different Languages

My one great passion is music. It can lift me up, make me remember precious moments and inspire me when I write poetry. I have always been glad that I could listen to music and songs in two different languages – English and Latvian. So whenever I want I can choose which kind of songs I want to listen to at any moment. I remember when I lived in NYC there were all kinds of balls given in Latvian society. I loved being able to dress up in a ball gown and dance popular Latvian songs which could even be waltzes or tangos. When I was still at university I had an amusing conversation with a friend. I was telling her about the great ball I had gone to that past weekend and about how I had enjoy dancing waltzes, tangos and polkas. She had a confused look on her face and asked me how you could do these dances to rock and roll. I explained to her about Latvian orchestras and the songs they played. Then she said that she would like to experience such dances as well. Today I love to listen to different songs in both languages and there are always great memories attached. Do you listen to songs in more than one language? Have you listened to a song and enjoyed it but not understood the language? I have attached The Beatles singing “I Want to Hold Your Hand” in German.
