He was addressing the Media

It's crazy that the attention He started getting from the international media is appalling. I mean, why bother? When you mostly report half truths or the words that would make people fear the country itself. But this latest annoying questions by the media really irked the President, and then made the headlines. To me, that was misleading, and the Local media is happily getting away with it. I don't know why the Filipino people need to explain themselves in social media or even here. We don't bother ourselves with other nations politics though I think who ever wins in the US could still affect the country, but we never really bothered by it. Looks like I won't be watching the news for the next six years You know for the moment there I thought the bias media was just centered on ABS-CBN, oh boy I was so wrong.... Maybe the people voted for the right candidate...all along. Or people just forgot that he's a leftist.

While I agree that the quote was taken out of context, He did promise us before in the campaign that he would be more stateman like when he becomes president so this would mean choosing his words very carefully. If he does not even try to do that, then the Philippines will always be shown in a bad light. While we all know that it is common that he says colorful things like this, in the end, we are the ones who would need to explain it to the international community and honestly I am getting tired of trying to explain for him when he says things like that when him being the intelligent and charismatic leader people say he is could have said it in much better and more diplomatic way.

@Letranknight2015 It is true that we don't need to explain for him but I can't help explaining this to them so that the country would be shown in a better light. In my opinion he could have said it in a better way. Imagine if I talked to my neighbors and my co-workers that way, I'm pretty sure that they will be pissed. In addition to that, there was a campaign promise from him before that he would act more stateman like and that he would reduce his cursing. Where is that promise now?

@Letranknight2015 I forgot to add this is one of the main reasons I switched my vote to him for MDS. I just cannot compromise diplomacy as it is an essential part of the presidency.

Hello @lealuvy2j I just don't understand why we need to, I mean other countries like china or even japan don't need to explain themselves. We have a working government and a President that works, media is just being way too bitter with their questions.

Yes.. lol, didn't he promise CHANGE? .. Change has arrived and people are shocked .. Most Filipinos are worried about what the others have to say .. At least there is now someone who is standing up for the country and it's people's sovereignty ..right? ..

@Letranknight2015 Filipinos have a unique way of bringing down people who try very hard to make a change .. I'm glad that Duterte can't be pulled down .. But I feel really bad for him because a lot of Filipinos can't feel his genuine love for the country and it's people .. I live far away, but I feel it .. I am happy for our homeland that Duterte is the President ..

I don't know if it was one of your countrymen or one of the presidential candidates from the US.

Hello @just4him what are you talking about? It's the media people who kept barging him with the same questions about procedures on state of lawlessness or how he would explain the EJK to obama, that irk him.

@Letranknight2015 Okay, I don't watch the news very often and only just heard President Obama was out of the country, so I had no idea who you were talking about.

So, if he is a leftist, should we always accept what he says? he is already the president, he should act like one. Do you think all media is biased?

I've seen it when I voted for a candidate that was not popular and instead the media was betting and campaigning on pnoy back in 2010. That woke my mind @Yar_Joey I am more careful now when the media reports something, there are times they are too obviously bias.

As long as he has good intentions, his actions benefit the majority, then he is doing alright - siva

I beg to disagree that all members of the media are biased. But at times it depends on the "loyalty/interests" of the owners of the TV or newspaper publishers. But there are still crusading journalists who wanted to tell the truth as they get it from the news source. Filipinos are just surprised at the way the new President is running the country; at least he shows that his boss are the people, no one else. Let's hope he will be successful in his advocacies for the Filipinos specially the poor.

That makes them bias when they prioritize "their" interest and not the people. Doesn't matter if they are not bias once in a while my belief towards them has been tarnished since 2010 @acelawrites

Mediai people can make the craziest question so it is better for the interviewee to not make "patol" anymore.

Hello @salonga well, it's not crazy, they just won't quit asking the same question over and over that really got to him.
