When I was a child my aunt used to tell me little stories about fairies and their little lives. According to her, the toadstool or mushroom was an important piece of their lives. In the picture I have above is a perfect example of a toadstool table and little stools ready made for the fairies. The large on in the middle was mostly flat so it could be used as a table to eat at while the little rounded toadstools were the perfect size for stools to sit on. Have you ever noticed how closely their houses look like a fat toadstool? I was taught to leave the toadstools alone and not destroy them. If you did you would destroy a little piece of the fairies life.

Do you know that this kind of mushrooms are very dangerous? Let them alone and do not touch them, they are poisonous.

@HazySue Only a few mushrooms are deadly. but many are hallucinogens. I only pick up the two that I really know for sure.

Those are cute toadstools. Do you know the story of the two young girls who made a fake fairy picture and passed it off for real?

@celticeagle I have heard the story. It was rather creative of those girls. I wonder what ever happened to them.

@epiffanie my aunt was quite a story telling. She had many fairy and gnome stories for us when we were children.

@HazySue - Your Auntie and my parents evidently taught the same lessons about the toadstools and the "little people" who used them as their chairs and tables. Enjoyed your posting. -Gus-

@HazySue - Me, too. But I go for giant stories, critter stories, even true stores (are there any of those???) as well. When I cannot find a good story to read, I sit down and write one. -Gus-

@Ceerios that is one of the things that is so great about being creative. If you can't find a story you like you can write one.

What lovely toadstools. I've never seen such attractive ones here. And a clever way your aunt had to prevent from touching potentially dangerous toadstools.

@JudyEv she was clever, none of us children touched the mushrooms because of her wonderful stories.

Your aunt was right... I once made a fairy garden and would visit with them often.

@FibroGoddess I love fairy gardens. I spent many happy hours at my aunts knees listening to her stories.
