mama and I have been evacuated due to fire. I'm at my daughter's house. We are fine, the fire seems to be going a diffferent direction than our house. Left my birds at the house covered with extra food and water, so i'm worried about them. Holly has two big dogs and a cat, I was afraid birds would get knocked over and escape. Hopefully they will be okay when we get home. But I'm worried more about themthan the actual house. Don't know when we can go home.
Have been missing you, but we are basically fine. How is everybody here?]EDIT: We are home, all is well, birds are fine. They aren't officially lifting the evac till 3:00 but they let in people with pets inside. THANK YOU for all your concern

I heard of three homes being lost, I so feel for those people, they were in a lower more rural area. Not that this is the big city

We can't really defend here in this area like the firefighters can, God bless them. They have saved this town multiple times.

@CinnamonGrl I know some areas it is best just to leave but in our situation we think we'd be okay.

Thank you. we haven't had to evacuate in several years now. But not the first time. This one started closer so was scarier.

@CinnamonGrl It would be, we used to see fires on the mountain during dry weather, we don't see that where we live now.

It had been a long time since we had to evacuate. We got home yesterday, house and birds are fine. A few families below us lost their homes, this can happen many places in California right now, we need rain so badly.

There is always more than one burning in California so my guess is in Connecticut you may not even have heard about this one.

All is well for us. Three homes were lost. Wildfires are something else. A shift of the wind and it could be you. They start so easy in this dry state right now.

They're fine. It didn't even get as smoky as we feared in this area. All lingering down in the valley, those poor people must be inundated with the smoke.

@CinnamonGrl That has to be tough to worry about fires during this time of year. I hope no other fires come your way.
