In the distant past I have been known to take an occasional holiday or maybe a short few days trip to the coast. It has been too long since I had such a break. In fact it has been so long that I am now well overdue. Tomorrow I shall be travelling over to Blackpool, which is a very popular seaside resort within about 60 miles of my home. I believe that it is the most popular tourist destination in Britain with the obvious exception of London. Despite this, I rarely go there, most likely due to it being so easily accessible to me. I have just booked 3 nights in a hotel there and shall be heading home on Thursday, but it will still constitute a well overdue respite. If nothing else, it gave me an excuse to take a few images of Blackpool and add transitions in order to create a small animation. This provided me with a little well needed practice.

I wish that I could manage such long breaks, but I will have to make do with the odd few days every 6 months or so.

Ah ha I see you are getting closer to the Irish Channel as you go - maybe one week-end you will hop on a ferry at the Holyhead UK and ferry across to Dublin. One day . . .

Blackpool is a very long way from Holyhead. I was much nearer when I went to Llandudno because Anglesey is just past Bangor.

Very rarely. I used to swim in the sea when I was younger, but nowadays I restrict myself to the pool when overseas.
