Being bombarded with post comments notification emails from Niume

On HubPages when we leave a comment on someone else's article we do not get notified each time someone else leaves a comment on that article unless we check the box next to the phrase "Follow this article's comments."
On a site like Niume when we leave a comment on someone else's post we always get notified when someone else leaves a comment on it. That means every time someone comments we get an email and if the post is popular it's email after email telling us a new comment was made. This is very annoying and frustrating. And there doesn't seem to be any settings in our accounts that would allow us to opt out of this type of notification. And clicking Unsubscribe in the notification emails doesn't give us an option to stop receiving these emails.
It should be our choice whether we want to be emailed these notifications or not. We should not be bombarded with them and there should be a way to opt out. That is one major thing I do not like about this site and why I stay away from commenting on other people's posts... I do not want to be bombarded with emails. At the same time by not commenting on others' posts I am limiting myself from getting myself out there and known by other writers of the site that do not know of my existence on the site.

I honestly don’t remember if there was an option or not.

@lovebuglena You can create folders inside your inbox and automatically set ones from a certain sender to go to a special folder. Well that's how it works with Windows Live Mail anyway. I don't know whether other programs work the same way.

@Gina145 I did not know that. I have yahoo mail and gmail. Wonder if those options are available there.

i don't know if you can make messages to automatically go to a folder rather than the inbox.

It is a problem. Perhaps they will change it so you can not be notified as time goes on. I just delete the ones I don't want to see before I open them. Most programs do let you set up filters.

After commenting on a few posts and getting those emails every time someone commented on those posts I stopped commenting on others' posts. Getting those emails is very annoying.

at niume do you earn from comments received on your article or if someone comments back on a comment you left elsewhere?

You only earn from views. I am not sure though if you get paid for all views or only for unique views.

@lovebuglena internal views, external views or both? social media sharing seems to be preferred now.

@hereandthere I think it doesn't matter whether the views come from within Niume or from elsewhere. All are counted. But again, not sure if they have to be unique views or not.

Perhaps that can do the trick. I did not think of that.

@lovebuglena
that's what I always do so that future emails from them wont go to my inbox but to spam folder.

@lovebuglena what is the min/max character or word count per post in other spheres?

The content seems to be great quality though I have seen some posts in the Photography sphere where they upload a photo and only a few words rather than at least the 5 line minimum.

I'm not on that site. It's weird that they don't give an option to change the notifications though.

There are options to unsubscribe from things but none of them are for getting notifications when people comment on a post you left a comment on.

Have you monetized on Niume? I want to give it a try? What are the payment options available with them?
