Follow Option on Mylot

Actually I don't know that what is the advantage with "Follow" Option . Suppose if I follow few people , i don't get any updates from them when they post something. Then why it is? Is there any purpose for that? Is my posts notify to my followers. Please clarify me.

I think our new posts will not notify our followers. But I used to check the discussions started by my followers. So if they have some new discussions, at least I can learn it anyway.

I think it is better to notify us when our following persons post a new discussion.
