If you have been doing something everyday you will get the hang of it and be very fast or can even do it with your eyes closed.
On the contrary, if you have lost touch with something, you will take a longer time completing the task even though you may have broken the record time before. In short, your efficiency drops.
Here, we use "getting rusty" on the task to describe how you become slower doing the said task.
Have you experienced how "rusty" you can get after not doing something for some time and as a result taking a longer time to complete the task?
When is the last time you felt this way?

Yes, right!
But there are certain things you never forget. Eg. Swimming. If you swimed last before 6-7 hears and you dive in the pool, you'll still be swimming the same way.

I partly agree with you. We can practice to do things better. But we also have our talents and in other tasks we are a failure.

@marguicha I think the things we take a shorter time to pick up and can do very well are referred as "talent" whereas those tasks that we are a "failure" I guess we have to take a much longer time to practise in order to achieve probably less than half the results of talented people... But if we keep trying we will still improve in due time?

@XinfulThotz Improve, yes. Do well, never. I could never play the guitar or the piano although I tried. But I managed to learn how to knit very slowly and concentrated.
