If you would shut up for a moment, I'd tell you I am not interested

Damned telemarketers. Stop. Take a breath. Let me get a word (or four) in. I. Am. Not. Interested. 5 words a second for 30 seconds before I was FINALLY able to talk over the top of her and say "No thank you." I guess I could have just hung up, but that would be...I don't know...rude or something. Almost as rude as calling someone and talking 95 miles an hour and not letting them get a word in edgewise. Damned telemarketers.

@jolietjake Just shout over her "I've got really bad diahorroea". That usually shuts them up.

She seriously would not stop talking. I was trying to talk over her and she was like the Energizer Bunny...

A local area code is normally someone needing to hire me for a gig if I don't know the number, but nope...not this time

The telemarketer would say where they were from and I would immediately say, "Not interested, thank you." and simply hang up. Then we stopped answering the phone if we didn't recognize the caller on the caller ID. And now that we disconnected our land line we don't get telemarketers at all anymore.

@patgalca @jolietjake I do get some calls on my cell phone too. It used to be Sprint or another cell phone company, on and off. The same number appears on my call log with ???, since it's not on my contact list. I just hit delete every time they call.

Those are easy to deal with...I just turn the stereo up so I can't hear them until they finally leave

I always ask them to hold on a second, put the phone down, and leave for a few minutes. Eventually they give up.

I know the feeling, JJ. And those who call and hang up or leave no answer on the machine. And for those I've blocked (only 30 numbers), they won't get through at all. I hate those Name UnAvailable/Out of Area/Wireless Caller type of calls. Go to NoMoRobocalls.com, my friend.

talking 95 miles an hour...that's fast... I usually don't pick up calls that I suspect is from a telemarketer...

Since it is also a business line, I really have to answer when I can...unless it is a number I know is spam

An app called 'truecaller' would help you sort this out as they mark those calls spam when you receive them so you donot have to answer and you can even block them too...
