I finally got all of the Christmas print fabric yo-yo's made. I took this picture of them laid out for the pattern that I want to sew them together. You know, a picture that I can refer back to when working on them. It was my monthly needlers group this afternoon at the quilt shop. After a hectic morning at home, I sure enjoyed just sitting and working on this. I actually did sew together 3 rows plus 2 yo-yo's after taking this picture. I keep my bag with yo-yo's and fabrics with me in my van at all times. I have ended up with several occasions to be able to work on them. Once I get done with this Christmas table topper I will move on to one for Valentines Day.

Interesting and different. I am thinking of putting some things on Etsy but haven't done it before. Don't you sell on there?

Yeah, I've had my etsy shop for over 5 years. I've not sold too much really, but I keep trying. I don't promote myself enough maybe...or don't stick with getting things made and new items listed.

How can you do so much in a day, Marsha! It seems as if you had lots of hands.

I have never really worked with yo yos. An elderly lady in our Christian Women's Fellowship talks about the fact that the women of the church made "yo yo" dolls and sold them as fundraisers for the building funds for the existing church building. She calls them silly dolls, and since no one in the group except me is a sewer, no one has any idea what she is talking about.

While working at the quilt shop yesterday, I sold one of the yo-yo makers for them. A customer stopped to see what I was making and didn't know there was such a thing. She said she loves to make them, but had always made them "by hand". She couldn't wait to start making them with the maker.

Having your projects with you make a lot of sense...

The very back of my van actually holds several projects right now as well as my sewing machine, thread storage, and supplies box.

All the colors go well together and they are very appropriate for Christmas. Very nice.

I separated all of my holdiay printed fabric by holiday and I'm going from there. Makes a great project to always take along with me.

@marsha32 To have fabric separated is the best way not to lose time when the moments to sew comes.

Pretty yo yos. You'll be referring to this picture while making your quilt? It'll be a quilt ?

It will just be small and be a table topper. I often think of doing a bed cover and maybe I can add that to my list of things that I want to make...but nothing I can start on until I finish up a bunch of other projects.

The yo-yos look good! I never knew what yo-yo is until recently. I wonder what to do with them. I have never sewed one, but they look nice to me. Hope you have done the Valentine's table topper too!

Wow! That is beautiful. I have made a mini skirt with this fabric yo-yo when I was in high school. I used the fabric from the remnants of my fathers tailoring shop. It was wonderful. Thanks for reminding me those days.

That sounds pretty too. I know some of the square dancers here adorn their skirts with lots of yo-yo's.
