Pneumonia

Got the diagnosis yesterday, though Mr. Siduri has been saying it for several days. I started a round of antibiotics yesterday. I’ve had it before, once when I was in college and once maybe seven or eight years ago. I don’t like it. The thing that stands out the most is the fever, which in this case has come and gone for several weeks. That and just being tired and pretty useless. I’ve slept whole days. I haven’t been coughing much but sneezing a little. I don’t feel like eating, but feel like I could drink whole rivers at times. One night, I started shivering when it was 80 degrees (27C) in the room. I took some Tylenol, got an extra blanket and got back into bed, burying myself in the covers. Mr. Siduri told me the next day I continued to shiver my sleep. When I did, apparently thinking he was cold, too, I threw the extra blanket over him. I have no memory of any of that. And I haven’t been writing much. I got the kitchen floor mopped one day, but other than that, I think I’ve been pretty useless. I think I’ll go take a nap now. *image is from pixabay*

Have you seen a doctor and are you sure that it's pneumonia? Last winter, I had fever for several days and I started shivering even if it was not cold in the house. It was a bacterial infection.

Yes, I saw a doctor. They took a chest x-ray and diagnosed it that way. I wasn't sure it was pneumonia because I haven't been coughing much to speak of. I thought it might be something with my stomach because I couldn't eat.

Yes, but not as much. I took a short walk this morning and feel winded. I'll walk again tomorrow. Thanks for your concern.

Feel better soon! I had pneumonia once and was in the hospital for 9 days and still felt very weak for a month after that!

Oh, how dreadful. Happily, I never got that sick and I am much better already, just prone to a nap still. I won't be running any marathons for a while.

I hope you're feeling better. There seems to be a lot of flu-like issues and cases of pneumonia going around. Be sure to get plenty of rest.

Thanks. I'm much better. Just really sleepy still. You're not the only person who's told me a lot of this is going around. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

What you need the most is a taking a nap. Other than medication, maybe you need some fresh air, ?? Sorry that you have to suffer. Hope you pass through this. Get well soon.

Fresh air sounds good, too. Maybe I'll open a window when the sun comes up.

Hope the antibiotics kick in soon and that you will start to feel better. I never had it but my mom had it a number of times.

I know how debilitating pneumonia is, so I feel for you. My husband had it a couple of years ago and it took him months before he felt well again. I hope it doesn't take as long for you.

Oh, your poor husband! I had it last time I think seven or eight years ago and was out of work for a week. I'm mostly tired. A nap sounds good about now, actually.

Thanks. I'm already much better than when I wrote the post, but I'm still sleeping a lot. Still have to get my morning nap in. And yes, I hope you never get it. I haven't been so much sick, but tired. I've slept whole days. What a waste of time.
