One black sock,
Missing his double.
One black sock,
In for lots of trouble.
Where did the other sock go?
I don't know.
Did it suddenly disappear?
Is it on a chandelier?
Is it in my doggy's mouth?
Is it a bed for a mouse?
Where is that errant sock?
I wish that I knew.
Meanwhile, my one foot
Is catching the flue.

A single sock is of no use
Whether blue or black or puce
So unless you find its double
You are in quite some trouble
And if the errant sock eludes you
Theres just one thing for you to do
Go and get another pair
unless you prefer your feet to be bare
Good luck with your search
