A quiet day after the weekend of street carnival activities. The weather was a bit pants too. Cold, with ever threatening rain that only fell sporadically in the end. I had to attend the job club which was quite routine and just involved being seen doing the kind of online job searches I do from home anyway. I decided to get some food in from the shop near the job club and as I use it often now I decided to get their store card which can get me a discount on their goods in the long run. I was advised to phone a Freephone number to get the card activated and told the lady on the phone my twelve digit membership number and my address but she kept messing it up putting it in so a simple task took over 20 minutes. I was close to tearing my card up before she finally got it right. Arthur Chappell

It was last Saturday that we had rain, rain, and more rain all day. Thankfully it's sunny and we are trying to catch up on laundry while we can hang it out on the line.

@sol_cee the word 'pants' is often used as a euphemism for not very good in the UK

These types of people were placed on Earth to test our patience Arthur. Glad you got through the task without reaching through the phone and strangling her.

Sounds like your freebie or discount will be well worth it when it comes.

I don't know why she simply didn't ask for a few numbers at a time. It shouldn't have been so hard!

Street carnival, that sounds like fun. I wonder if it's like our county fairs.

frustrating but any savings to a place you now use often is very worth it!
