Day 26 Proverbs 10:8 Proverbs 10:8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. 9 He that walks uprightly walks surely: but he that perverts his ways shall be known. Society today has a clear dividing line. Not between classes, but between those who walk on the side of right and wrong, and those who walk only on the wrong side and invariably are in trouble all the time. You even know which parts of town to stay away from. You can see the dividing line easily there as well because even the houses look shabby and ready to be condemned. Solomon easily saw the dividing line as well. Those who followed God’s commandments showed wisdom and conducted themselves with honor. However, those who did not conduct themselves with wisdom and went their own way, trusting only themselves, were foolish and untrustworthy. God saw the dividing line when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden separating themselves from God and told them there was only one way they could be redeemed from their sin and promised them a Savior who would bridge the gap between them. Today you don’t need to be separated from God. You can choose the way of salvation and become wise as you follow God’s ways and not the selfish stubborn ways of the world where Satan rules the hearts and minds of the people keeping them separated from God. Titus 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (KJV) God sent his Son, Jesus, to be your Savior so you do not need to live on the other side of the dividing line separating you from God any longer. You can accept the finished work of the cross and turn your life from the works of darkness and the foolish nature Satan would keep you in bondage to, and step across the dividing line into God’s salvation and his grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Solomon wanted the people to step across the dividing line and choose wisdom and live according to God’s commandments instead of always acting the fool. It’s an easy choice to make, you just need to decide which side of the dividing line you want to live on – God’s side full of wisdom, grace, mercy, and forgiveness or controlled by Satan and the ways of the world. Let’s pray: Father, help me choose wisdom, grace, mercy, and forgiveness as I walk through this world shunning the temptations Satan would throw at me and walking in your ways. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 2 October 2016 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

Yes, there are only two sides, two doors, two roads. We are told which way to go but the choice is ours. Matthew 7:13-14 (New International Version) 13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Sad but true there will always be the people who see the right way and the ones who see everything in the wrong way.
