Controlling Angry Emotions

This morning I read an article on handling anger. I do sometimes have a problem with that.
The article suggested that when you feel anger rising, you should embrace it, acknowledge it, where it came from, why it is there, accept it, and let it go.
I don't find it that easy, but I have been trying. The article also said that when you feel angry or hateful, take a few deep breaths, be mindful of the anger and visualize letting it fall away like leaves from a tree.
What do you do to help yourself stop feeling angry or hateful about something?

I rarely get angry. I never allow myself to get to that point. I would feel bad or I ever said anything to anybody in anger. I would regret it and it would bother me. I rather just walk away from the situation and remain calm. I just go for a walk and let whatever it is pass. Then after I have calmed down and will talk to the person about it.

True, but there are constructive ways to let it out, as opposed to destructive ways.

@MissNikki I think something like that needs practice. I've been taught techniques for certain things in regards to depression. It's not exactly easy to change a pattern that you're used to.
I don't get angry often at all. But if something dos bug me, I usually bottle it up and I keep bottling things for awhile and eventually I will explode. Very hard to calm down at that time though.

I tend to breathe deep and count to ten. If that doesn't work, I count to a hundred. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

i would either talk to someone who can understand or cry it out. i am not the kind who will "explode" on the spot..it takes a few occasions to make me "explode"
