Annual Passes to Disney World

In honor of Disney World's 45th anniversary celebration this month, Disney is offering a great deal on their annual passes. If you purchase an annual pass during the month of October, Disney will throw in one extra free month! So you will get a 13-month pass for the price of 12 months! There's only one catch...annual passes are only available to Florida residents (I know...bummer, right?). For a small fee, I will be happy to let you use my address so you can "claim" to be a Florida resident! But you are on your own for figuring out how you are going to present a valid photo ID proving you are a Florida resident! But seriously though, I lucked out on this offer, because my annual passes happened to be up for renewal this month. And as a long-time pass holder, I get a 15% discount on the price every year that I renew my passes! So, I went online and renewed my passes this evening, got the 15% discount AND and extra month added on to my pass! Thank you Disney World!

Well I can take you when you come to stay at your parents condo in Ft. Myers! I'll take you to each of the theme parks for some fun! And we'll end the trip at Epcot, where we can go back to the World Showcase and drink around the world (there are 12 countries represented in the world showcase around this big lake, and we'll have a drink at each one until we make it all the way around the lake). I might have to practice for that trip, but it would be fun!

One of these years we are just going to stay down in Florida for 6 months and change our residency, it would have good financial implications for a variety of tax reasons.

It probably wouldn't be that hard to "declare" Florida residency without having to live down here 6 months out of the year. If you already have a home here, then all you have to do is go get a Florida drivers or ID card. That's all Disney asks for when they ask you to prove your residency!

Just to clarify, I go to Disney World in Florida, not Disneyland in California. I have never actually been to Disneyland before!

@infatuatedbby It's okay! Many people get the two theme parks mixed up!

That's a really great deal! My brother, sister-in-law and step niece are going to Disney World this month, but they are from Wisconsin not Florida so wouldn't be eligible for that pass, but I do expect they will have a great time anyway.

When are they going this month? I will be there October 28-30 for my daughter's 17th birthday! Too bad Halloween is on a Monday this year, because it would be fun to celebrate Halloween at the Magic Kingdom!

@just4him On select nights, they have an after-hours Halloween event called "Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party." You have to buy a separate ticket to enter the park at 7:00pm on the nights they offer the event. It's worth the extra cost, because they limit how many people can attend, so the park is not crowded at all during the party. And it's like a giant trick-or-treating event...they have candy stations set up in front of all the rides so you can load up bags of candy! It's a great event for kids!

@moffittjc They are going the 22nd to 29th, so you might bump shoulders, you never know. Isn't there some kind of Halloween party there during that time? I saw my brother in a Darth Vader costume for it on FB. I hope your daughter has a great birthday at the Magic Kingdom.

Yes, it makes a lot of sense for me and the kids, since we are often there 20-25 days total each year. It makes it a real bargain. The other nice thing is that pass holders automatically get the unlimited park hopper option, which means we can go back and forth between all the theme parks as many times as we want each day.

I have gone several times to Disney during a span of 40 years. But I would not want to have an annual pass for all the world. I need to wait for the last visit to go back into memory in order to have fun at the next one.

That's great! I couldn't afford to go if my life depended on it. Lol. I looked up the prices when we moved here and it's way beyond our reach. I wish I could take my kiddo's but that's not happening unless we win the lottery!

It is pretty expensive, but compared to a one-day ticket or a park-hopper ticket, the annual passes are a bargain, and is pennies on the dollar compare to a regular ticket price! I have determined that if I go at least 4 days each year, I have gotten my money's worth. The kids and I are usually there anywhere from 20-25 days a year, so I definitely am getting my money's worth on the annual passes! And it's convenient too, because they offer a monthly payment plan, so that makes it easier to pay for! But I can understand in your case how it could be very expensive...between you and your husband and all your kids, it would really add up! But I hope that someday you would get the opportunity to take your family!

You're not that far away! You should plan a trip soon! Just take I-20 over to I-75, head south, merge onto the Florida Turnpike, and you'll be at Disney before you know it!

The kids and I go about 5-6 times a year. Usually, we'll do long weekend trips whenever the kids are out of school or there is a holiday. In two weekends I am taking my daughter for her birthday. And then every year, we do our big trip where we go for 7-10 days at Christmas time. We'll usually arrive at Disney on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, and then stay until after New Years.

Yes, we live close to Disney, so we visit 4 or 5 times a year, totaling about 20-25 days at the theme park. I've been taking the kids every since they were born. So, as long as they keep enjoying it, I will keep taking them!
