Master Matthew Is On His Way

Most of us here in the pathway or close to the pathway are watching TV for any good news about Matthew. Unfortunately, there isn't much to be had.
It seems as though Matthew is master of all that is near him. He is busily tearing apart homes and land and he doesn't seem ready to stop anytime soon.
We stocked up on canned goods a couple of weeks ago just in case this would happen. We also have stocked plenty of water. We are prepared.
Fortunately my husband has just gotten rid of the last branches and logs from our fallen/cut down tree. He has been slowly putting away in out sheds all of the yard ornaments and such. The potted plants we will put away tomorrow.
By the time Thursday night reaches us we will be fully prepared to hunker down and ride out the storm.
Oh yes, we located out old percolator so we can have coffee, just in case we lose our electricity. That is an absolute must have for us.
I hope everyone who is touched by Matthew makes it through without damage or injury. I am including them in my prayers.

Yes, this storm looks to be a bad one. I have family near West Palm Beach and more family in NC so I hope all in the path of the storm makes it through without damage or injury.

@Jeanniemaries it's good they can go to a pet friendly shelter.

@HazySue Yes! I urged them to come and stay with me, but they have five dogs, three are Goldden Retrievers and it would be hard for everyone including the dogs to come. They do have a local shelter they can go to if necessary that welcomes the dogs.

I think that people who live 'in the pathway' of such storms usually learn pretty quickly what they need to do. I hope that everyone makes it through also.

I assume you are not on the coast but inland? Stay safe and it you have to leave, leave.

I will pray that everyone stays safe. I have ridden out a hurricane on Galveston Island once, and it is not an experience I would wish on anyone. Stay safe!

@HazySue - Yes, most of the damage comes from flying debris. You are smart to worry about the damage from the trees!

@DeborahDiane we have quite a few trees close to our home. Fortunately they all held up against the wind.
