Early Morning Visit From the EMTs

This morning about 4:30a. I was awakened by someone rummaging around in my walk-in closet. I thought that perhaps a cat had been locked in there last night when Cami put Josh's Xbox in there. Half awake I wasn't thinking straight. Then Josh came walking out with his Xbox. I told him to put it back and an argument insued. I got up and went toward him. I put my hands around the Xbox and he pushed me back. I fell back, went to catch myself with my right arm and heard my shoulder crack as I went down. I called 911. I was in ALOT of pain. Josh had gone to his room, crying. Next thing I knew Cami was standing in the hall directing the EMTs into my room. They got vitals, talked to me and got me up and I had to walk downstairs where the stretcher was waiting. The ride to the hospital meant excruciating pain. The female EMT tried to find a vein to start an IV and give me something for the pain. Couldn't. I get to the hospital and have to wait 45 minutes for the doctor to come. X-rays were taking. I had dislocated my shoulder but he decided he needed more pics of my elbow before he went about relocating the shoulder. Elbow was okay so they went forward with relocation. They wanted me to lay on my stomach and dangle my arm over the edge and they could relocate the shoulder that way. NO WAY!! So the doctor ordered 2 more doses of Morphine, he got behind me and a nurse was on the other side of me. I turned to one side with my legs dangling off the gurney, leaned forward and bent down on a mobile tray thing. The doctor relocated my shoulder. It did smart big time but it got done. It felt SOOO much better after it was relocated. The hospital gave script for a ride home in a taxi. I get out and get in the taxi when it came and the car would stay started. It would turn over and die immediately. So then we waited for another one to come. By 9a. I was back home. Morphine and I did good. Cami went and filled my Norco prescription and I layed down for awhile. Even with the Norco in my system I turn my arm just right and it hurts like a .......yah. I crawled into the bathroom to relieve mysef and had to take the sling off to get up to set on the pot. Patheticness. It felt so good to have the sling off that I decided to try getting online. Here I am. How are you folks today? Bet you are having a better day than I am.

And I thought I was having a bad day with chills and fever. I hope your shoulder is better soon. You should probably keep the sling on.

Thanks. Yes, I have been hearing about Mathew on the news. Hope all goes over. Wish I could say 'hope it blows over' but that isn't likely.

something that might be safer with the removal of the xbox, get a pad lock and put the lock through the prongs in the cord. like the photo below, all you will have to do is either hide the key, or make it one of the numbers locks so nothing to hide

@celticeagle not unless you took away the charger, once the battery was gone it would then not work, until charged, but if she was using it on and off then yeah. Change the password to log into it perhaps, he doesnt get the password until he has earned it. but then you'd be changing it all the time and that could also be hard

I don't know what to say. I am open mouthed thinking about your pain and shock and also sad about that grandson. He needs to go- where I am not sure but frankly, speaking from my heart, he needs to go away from you. Hugs. Please know that I care and am worried about you.

I don't interact with him much. He comes up for something occasionally but I just answer whatever he asks and that's it. I am not going to interact or try to do much with him now. I'm a little afraid of him now.

@celticeagle He will pick up on that fear. I hope your grandson can live some where else sooner than later. I'm not trying to be mean. I worry about you.

I haven't heard anything much from him since I came back from the hospital. He was upset and I think he said he was sorry before I went.

I was better after the shoulder was relocated. Not to get a picture of it and have the doctor give me an idea on how it is doing. I haven't had that yet and this happened on the 6th of October.
