We took our son to a place called Spiderhall Farm today since the program we have him enrolled in was having a fun event there. They had a bouncy house and bouncy slide. There were baby goats to pet, a pumpkin patch, and a corn maze. It was our first time going to this farm and the day was overall good.
We went to the corn maze first and that is where the only hiccup in the trip happened. I had fallen behind my son and husband because I was taking pictures. One of the moms near me pointed out the spider in the picture I have up here. We took pictures then she flipped it to see if it was a black widow. IT WAS. As soon as we saw the red on the spider she squished it. I had never seen a black widow, but the thought of one of those venomous spiders biting one of the many little kids tripping in the maze made me so worried and anxious. After that I was on edge then entire time until i got out of that maze.
Things got fun again once we got back to where the bounce castle and slide were. We had lunch, my son played some more, and then we went home with his pumpkin that he picked out. We got home an hour ago and I need a nap. My son is running on sugar so he hasn't had a nap yet either but even if he doesn't he will be out for the whole night.
Have you ever seen a black widow in real life before? Have you ever been bitten by one or know anyone who has? Do you go to farms in the fall for fun in the pumpkin patch, corn mazes, or animals?

It sounds like you had a good day besides the spider! I have never seen one and hope I never do! They are creepy.

I have never been there because I live in a different country. I have never seen a black widow, but I know that it kills its mates and ate after they had mate, and then when she give birth that offspring will kill her too and eat her.
That is why it called black widow because it ate her spouse.

Farm experience is really something different for the kids especially if they grew up in the city, good you all had a nice time. There are no poisonous spiders in the Philippines, if there are, it's very rare.
